Chinaman's Island is a wetland area on the shores of Lake Mulwala which incorporates a very popular walking track. We rode our bikes along the foreshore of the Lake and then followed the track towards Chinaman's Island past the Yarrawonga Yacht Club. Car Parking is available near the Yacht Club and the track is accessible in all conditions - an easy walk for all ages.
There are seats provided in various locations along the track to sit and watch the abundant birdlife attracted to this area - signs at the entrance shows the names of some of the species you may see. This walking/riding track is well shaded and a lovely place to spend exploring on a hot summer afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our ride and found the tracks easy to negotiated with plenty of signs to show the way - we saw a number of people out on their afternoon walk/excercise.
You can drive to the start of the walking trail by following River Road along the Lake to the Yarrawonga Yacht Club - or drive down Witt Street from the centre of town. The Visitor Information Centre has a brochure with all the necessary details and maps of the area.
