Description

Airlie Beach is a locality in the Whitsunday Region of Queensland, Australia. At the 2011 census, the suburb of Airlie Beach itself had a population of 7,868. Airlie Beach is one of many departure points for the Great Barrier Reef. Near latitude 20 degrees south, Airlie Beach, Proserpine and the nearby Whitsunday Islands enjoy a tropical climate and lifestyle.

This is a truly beautiful spot - once you have visited the area it is easy to understand why thousands of tourists come to Airlie Beach each year. We stayed at the Seabreeze Top Tourist Caravan Park which was being renovated to incorporate a swimming pool and new amenities. This is in a great location as you can walk to the local shopping centre or Banjo's for a drink and a meal. Bike Riding along the boardwalk to Airlie Beach is sensational - everywhere you look is like looking at a picture postcard.

Airlie Beach lagoon style swimming pool is situated on the beautiful foreshore, behind the main street, and this is patrolled 24 hours a day. This lagoon is surrounded by walking paths, shaded picnic areas and children's playgrounds - very popular with locals and visitors.

There are plenty of restaurants, shops, bars and tour companies located at Airlie Beach and only a short boat trip to the Whitsunday Islands - in fact the airport is located on Hamilton island. RvTrips highly recommend that you visit Airlie Beach and explore this picturesque part of the Queensland coast.
